Now Hiring an Administrative Assistant

Henderson Economic Development Corporation

Henderson Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO) serves to encourage, support and financially assist in the attraction of new business and industry, and in the retention and expansion of existing Henderson businesses and industries.  HEDCO also assists with activities to grow a robust economy and to contribute to the overall quality of life in Henderson.

HEDCO’s office is located in Henderson City Hall and has a 3-person staff including the Executive Director, Director of Marketing and Business Development and the Administrative Assistant.  Job requires working in the office full time, Monday-Friday.  Working from home is not an option.

This position will be a full-time City of Henderson employee, under the supervision of the HEDCO Executive Director, with benefits that include; medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid vacation.

Candidate must be a self-starter, friendly, highly organized, flexibility, have excellent spelling and typing skills, good record keeping, and strong communications skills.  Must be proficient in standard business software and have knowledge in the use of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management Database) program. 

Salary will be based on experience.

Job Duties Include (but aren’t limited to):

Maintain the office, answer phones, set appointments, arrange meetings, etc;

Maintain organization records and keep files updated and organized;

Compose agendas for meetings, post agendas, deliver packets to members, take and type up meeting minutes;

Keep bills paid, print checks for A/P, close the books each month, coordinate with bookkeeper and auditor;

Key in financials, maintain budget and financial spreadsheets;

Prepare fiscal year end documents as required by auditors; and the Texas State Comptroller;

Maintain business incentive agreements, project numbers, C-3 reports, and other files associated with business clients.

And other things as may be required.

Education and Experience Requirements

·         High school diploma or equivalent education required

·         3-years of administrative assistant experience

·         Knowledge of business software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, accounting software, CRM (Act) and online meeting software such as MS Teams, Zoom and Go To Meeting.

·         Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
