Rail Access

An active rail spur connects Henderson to the Union Pacific main line 14 miles northwest of Henderson.  The operator, Blacklands Railroad, has a transload yard in Henderson, and the spur also serves a variety of businesses.   The rail service is an important piece of Henderson’s industrial and transportation components.

“Did you know? Texas has more rail than any other state, reaching over 10,000 miles. Rail is a critical component of a thriving economy, safely connecting industries, ports, and people, and it provides an effective alternative to highways.”
