Henderson: Where Work, Play, and Relaxation Intersect

Henderson isn't just a fantastic spot to live and work; it's also an excellent destination to relax and unwind. Henderson hosts a myriad of entertainment options throughout the year, such as the Annual Syrup Festival in November, National Night Out in October, the Freedom Festival in July, the Mardi Gras Gumbo Cookoff, the Christmas Parade and Santa's House in December, and a range of Halloween activities, including Public Safety Fun Night, Downtown trick-or-treating, and local church festivals.

Plenty To Do

  • 6 parks - The perfect scene for pavilion parties, playground play dates, pickup games, exercising, and just plain relaxing.

  • 20+ Lakes - Texas’ best fishing lakes are great for recreational boating as well and are within an hour’s drive.

  • Golf - Henderson Country Club is home to a 9 hole course, restaurant, and event venue. East Texas also offers many other beautiful public and private golf courses.

  • Theatre – The Henderson Civic Theatre presents performance and promotion of dramatic arts in all forms on a stage. Production season begins in the fall each year and comprises of five productions as well as other unique events throughout the year.

  • Museum – The Depot Museum is your ticket to East Texas Heritage and offers education, and instruction for Folk Arts. It is located near downtown on five acres and contains 12 historic restored structures from the past.


The Big City

The short distance to Tyler, Longview, or Shreveport/Bossier City provides plenty of shopping and dining options that are close to home. Shreveport/Bossier also offers the Louisiana Downs and casinos with weekly entertainment and shows.

The Bigger City

Take a day trip to catch a big game, hit the hottest mega shopping spots, or indulge in the culinary and cultural wonders of Texas’ largest cities. Houston is just a few hours’ drive away, Dallas even less, offering you with an infinite number of possibilities to keep you busy on the weekends. You can even make a trip to experience the NHL, MLB, NFL, and NBA. All are easily accessible and just a short drive from Henderson.

State Parks

These parks are located nearby such as Martin Creek Lake State Park and Tyler State Park and offer boating, camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, and everything the great outdoors has to offer.
