Overview:

Sadler’s Smokehouse, a once family-owned business in Henderson, has proudly been the city’s largest industrial employer and third-largest employer overall. Following its acquisition by Hormel Foods, Sadler’s Smokehouse maintained its renowned status owing to its strong brand portfolio resonating with consumers, customers, and operators.

 

The origins of Sadler’s Smokehouse trace back to Red Sadler’s vision to offer quality BBQ to everyone in Henderson. Recognizing their burgeoning wholesale foodservice business, the Sadler family established a large smoking facility in 1968. Harold Sadler, Red’s son, expanded his father’s methods, leading to the creation of Sadler’s Smokehouse brand and the development of their signature rotisserie pit.

Product Quality:

Sadler’s Smokehouse stands by their long-established tradition of cooking meat for twelve hours or more at a carefully maintained temperature. This method guarantees tender and flavorful meat, enabling Sadler’s Smokehouse to share Texas BBQ with the nation.

    Team and Techniques:

    Pitmaster Ramon Gonzalez, with over 35 years of service, plays a major role in maintaining the company’s culture. Originally working under the founder, Harold Sadler, Ramon continues to embrace traditional styles in their BBQ preparation today. His pit crew is skilled at making perfect smoked meats and can discern the quality of a brisket merely by touch – a testament to their expertise.
